Rebranding Myself

I am excited to unveil my new brand name – Elizabeth The Severe

My current artwork has been less camp and more dark romantic, so I thought the name should reflect the current self. I have also been thinking that I picked my old name previously because I was too afraid and too embarrassed to name myself like a scene queen, but it is time for me to own my identity.

I’ve created a logo and a monogram for now. The monogram will be great for signing off on all my future artwork. The old name was too long for me whenever I had to sign off, and the initials also spelt out EATS (unfortunate!)

There will be things I can improve on for my new logo, but I am happy with this for now.

Pameran Poskad Exhibition

I submitted some small prints to the Pameran Poskad 2020 exhibition, held at ION Gallery Singapore in Dec.

Really thankful to my friends who went down to help me take photos of my artwork! And also thank you to everyone who purchased my art ♡

It feels really nice to know that there are people out there who appreciates my art!

A Series of Neons

I started off using this color palette inspired by the Birds of Prey movie.

I also did a Youtube tutorial for Band of Doodlers in collaboration with Warner Bros. Singapore to show you guys how to draw this version of Harley Quinn, you can check it out here!

Astrology

I got into Astrology when I was about 17 (9 years ago!) when I was introduced to it through a friend who taught me about the influence of the planets and signs in the natal chart. The people around me knows that I have a casual obsession with Astrology, so it's about time I did a series on it *slams fist on desk*

I did all these artwork on my iPad Pro in the Procreate app, and honestly it has helped to speed up my process so darn much.

Aries - May The Bridges I Burn
Taurus - All Rolling Eye
Gemini - Swallow Your Words

It is now Leo season, so I am trying to catch up with Cancer and Leo right now. This is an ongoing series (until next March) so stick around to view all 12 signs!

Today At Apple Pt II

Thank you to everyone who came down for the Live Art session at Apple Orchard Road! I had a lot of fun teaching everyone how to create their own little monsters!

Previously I've done workshops for Band of Doodlers, but it was a whole new experience having to talk about myself and my artwork for a solid 20 minutes. It was unnerving but a really fun experience (Thankfully, being in my Ghostbusters costume helped me to hype myself up before the talk.)

I think everything went pretty well - Cheers to not making a fool of myself!

Thanos

This ballpoint pen artwork took me about a year and a half to finish. I have to admit that it took so long because I wasn't particularly motivated to finish it after a string of unfortunate events.

I waited so long before I release this artwork as I had initially planned to reveal the artwork when it was nearer to the release of the Avengers: Infinity War movie. At the same time, it was also the perfect opportunity to showcase it at my upcoming Today At Apple live art session.

Please check out the "works" section for the full version! I hope you like it!

Dr Martens 1460 Worn Different

Last month I had the opportunity to customise a pair of Dr Martens 1460 boots for the Worn Different campaign. I went with an Alice in Wonderland theme for the shoes- I imagined the wearer as Alice growing enormous after having an "Eat Me" cake. The boots are still available for viewing at Wheelock Place, go check them out!

Special thanks to Dr Martens Singapore, Band of Doodlers and Fly Entertainment for this opportunity!

DC Fanart Tarot

I am really excited to be working on this DC Tarot series. It combines both of my favourites- DC Comics and tarot cards. Here a behind the scene shot and WIP of what I have been drawing!

File_000.jpeg

I am using a Pilot ballpoint pen for this entire illustration series and I don't want to toot my own horn, but I genuinely feel that ballpoint artwork actually looks better in real life. It just does not have that ~oomph after I scanned it.
