My drawing process

I thought I’d share some of my process photos here.

1. I’d usually already have a pose in mind, and I’ll start out with a very rough sketch just to get my placement and crop right. I think I spend my most time during this period because sometime I end up changing the hand placement/ background.

2. After lining the artwork, I will fill it in with block colours

3. The most fun part imo is to shade the artwork.

4. I’ll usually still end up doing some tweaking of colours on Photoshop just to make the artwork look punchier in colours.

As much as I am making self-indulgent heeheehaahaa works, I take a lot of pride in my art and I enjoy a good challenge to draw things I am not used to. It took me awhile to figure out how to shade the look of a satin shirt for Rafayel. I would also challenge myself to pose the characters in different poses all the time so I can practise my anatomy skills. (I could easily go for the low hanging fruit and do a close up face portrait if I really just wanted to do a fan art)

I am very thankful to everyone who has been supporting me on my art journey! Thank you if you’ve ever liked an artwork on the gram, or dropped by to take a look at my works at cons! I am immensely grateful!
